Stylish Elizabeth Bagaya Ready To Represent Uganda At Miss World Pageant in Puerto Rico
Uganda will be represented at the Miss World 2021 in Puerto Rico on December 16, 2021 by the ever stylish Elizabeth Bagaya, a 26 year old holder of Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management and a make-up artist by profession.
Miss. Bagaya, who was the first runner up in the last beauty pageant got the nod after the reigning Miss Uganda 2020/2021 Oliver Nakakande opted to go for further studies in Dubai.
Bagaya, was in late April announced as the new interim Miss Uganda 2020/21 by Kezzi Entertainment, the Miss World exclusive license holder to carry on duties of the Office of Miss Uganda.
However, announcing at Uganda Media Centre Bagaya’s upcoming participation in Miss World Pageant, the Minister of State for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Martin Magarra Bahinduka said: “We want to make sure the world notices we not only have beautiful and intelligent girls, but we also have the best when it comes to tourism attractions.”
He added: “We are grateful to Breathtaking Uganda and Miss Uganda for organizing the sendoff party not only to boost the Beauty Queen’s confidence but also to make sure we use the opportunity to market Uganda.”
The minister also said the former Miss Uganda Quiin Abenakyo did so well at the last world beauty pageant. “Miss Abenakyo did so brilliantly that we got to host the Miss World team here.”
Abenakyo represented Uganda at Miss World 2018 in China and was crowned Miss World Africa 2018. Abenakyo was a winner in the head to head challenge portion of the contest, and she placed in the Top 5 overall. She is the first Ugandan to place this high in this annual pageant.
Miss World 2021 will be the 70th edition of the Miss World pageant to be held on December 16, 2021 at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The edition was originally scheduled for the end of 2020 but postponed due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
